Here in NYC and across most of the United States right now it’s bitter cold outside!
If you are like many of us here in New York one of your New’s Year’s resolutions was weight loss and or a fitter healthier you!
Well, when the temperature outside it 7 degrees and lower with lots of snow all around, what does one do?
First any winter activity one chooses, check local advisories and speak with your doctor.
That being done frigid temps and lots of snow is no excuse to give up on your fitness goals!
“So,” people ask me “Kathy, what do I do?!”
Simple, if you’re adventuresome and love the cold outdoors and have the winter gear, get outside and enjoy cross country skiing, snow boarding, ice skating and all the great outdoor sports one can enjoy this time of year.
If outdoor sports in frigid temperatures is not for you ( I’m raising my hand) one can join and or go to local gym or do what I do, I have an arsenal of fitness DVDs.
This morning I chose Shaun T’s Hip Hops abs as I need some cardio and I wanted a fun workout! In 20 minutes I got the blood pumping and burned calories. What I also like about this DVD is that you don’t need a lot of floor space. This is great news for us city dwellers!
