Setting goals is great.
Some goals are short term
Some are longer.
For the most part there are steps along the way to achieving any goal.
To achieve ones goals whether its to get to work on time, lose 5 pounds or graduate college it’s important for our mental being to be rewarded.
Now this doesn’t mean you eat a cookie every time you get to work on time especially if another goal you have is to lose weight.
The reward can be as simple as stopping for a moment when you do arrive at work on time and mentally pat yourself on the back.
Good. I’m on time. I’m glad I’m on time. I hate starting the day rushing. I like being on time & even a bit early because then it starts my day at a better pace which is kinder to me.
Or.. you lost the 5lbs !
Tremendous.
Perhaps buy that sweet camisole you’ve been eying

Pondering how it would feel on your skin & look on your thinner self..so that wearing that camisole becomes an acknowledgement to yourself that you set goals that are good for you & you follow through on them.
Its good to experience success. To savor that. Take it in. So often we rush to the next goal, the next meeting, the next item on the to do list without taking even a nano second to thank ourselves.
Why not smile & take it in?
Then you can rush on. Heh this is NYC we know rush. We also know rewards…a night out with friends, tickets to the ball game,
a leisurely walk home enjoying window shopping, a bouquet of flowers we buy ourselves.. to tell ourselves.. well done.
Go ahead.. do it.
And then do it again.
Live like a New Yorker set goals, achieve goals & make an acknowledgement of that achievement a moment, a special occasion, an item or treat for yourself so that you are well rewarded. Why not? Rushing with no rewards is no fun.
In NYC we know work & we know fun.
