Living in NYC and having family and friends here and in the tri-state area the questions arises every year, what are we doing for Thanksgiving?
We have made several viable choices in the past. We have gone to family member’s homes, we have gone to neighborhood restaurants, we stayed home with friends and family and had the meal delivered and we have stayed home and cooked.
Thankfully my husband and I are very low key about Holidays with our goal being to enjoy ourselves and our company. We both aim to be rested not exhausted after the day’s festivities!
We both finding cooking the dinner the best choice as turkey is simple to prepare and among our favorite foods!
In under 30 minutes we had the meal planned and the family guests invited!
Dinner will be at home and we may venture out in the morning to Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade as we have a grandson that would enjoy the super sized balloons and floats immensely!
When cooking the big meal I wear comfortable clothes usually a T shirt and jeans. Rock and Republic is a favorite brand of mine for style and comfort!
Right before serving I change into a nice top to look my Thanksgiving best!
The secret to the perfect Thanksgiving is planning! While planning make sure your partner and you are on the same page for who is invited and the food you plan to serve.
The rest is execution while remaining thankful for the many, many blessings in our lives!
